Mentoring is a fundamental part of school life at CP Riverside.
Our mentors take time to build positive relationships with their students to ensure they feel supported and are able to make progress both academically and personally.
Our mentoring programme is designed to
- Improve students’ self esteem and confidence
- Improve students’ motivation to succeed whilst at CP Riverside
- Improve the aspiration of students when thinking about post-16 options and destinations
- Improve students attendance and behaviour at CP Riverside
Mentors play a key role in communicating with parents/carers to keep them up to date with how their child is progressing at CP Riverside.
In addition to mentoring support, our Student Engagement Team deliver tailored interventions to students who are finding it difficult to sustain engagement in education or need a different approach to unlock their potential. They work with small groups of students for a 4-6 week period and focus on topics such as communication skills, teamwork, problem solving and self management.
Our programmes are evaluated regularly to ensure that our students have access to the support possible to enable them to fulfil their potential.
