Year 11 Results Day – 20 August 2020

We have taken the decision to invite students into school to collect their results.  In order to maintain government social distancing and hygiene expectations, we have issued specific time slots for students to attend school to collect their results and have a brief discussion with staff.  Letters have been sent home advising students of their slots – it is important that these times are adhered to and that all safety guidelines are followed whilst inside school and the school grounds.

Unfortunately, parents will not be allowed in school on this occasion.

Any results that are not collected by students on the day will be posted home. We will not be able to provide any results over the telephone.

Important Information on 2020 Exam Grades

On the 17th August the government announced that students would now receive the higher of the Centre Assessed Grade or the Ofqual Calculated Grade.  The Centre Assessed Grade is a grade that was arrived at by the school as a result of a rigorous moderation of teacher assessments within subject areas and across the school; in line with the expectations of government and Ofqual at the time.

Appeals

Students are not able to appeal to the exam board about individual results.  However, students will be able to appeal to the schools if they believe there is evidence of discrimination; or they have evidence that the school did not follow the process correctly in their case.    Before submitting an appeal you should attempt to resolve your concerns with the the school informally first.  If you submit a formal appeal then students should provide evidence of either: the alleged discrimination; or how the school failed to follow the process in their case.  Please see further information in the Department of Education’s Student Guide to Post 16 Results
