THE PRINCIPAL

I am proud and privileged to be able to introduce you to CP Riverside School, an alternative provision school that aims to impact a community.

Our school provides high-quality educational opportunities for students in years 8-11 who, for a variety of reasons, are no longer thriving in a mainstream school.  We offer a safe, aspirational and supportive learning environment in which students are encouraged to build and maintain strong relationships with staff and students, respect everyone for their beliefs, opinions and choices, engage fully in restoration, and achieve excellent academic and personal results.

While our school day and curriculum share key similarities with mainstream education – such as structured timetables and 50-minute, teacher-led lessons, we are distinct in our approach to student support and behaviour. Our restorative, relational and therapeutic ethos, combined with regular mentoring and coaching, ensures that every student receives personalised guidance tailored to their individual needs.

We are proud to offer a knowledge-rich curriculum that includes a balanced combination of GCSE and vocational qualifications. As a small-school community, we place strong emphasis on academic achievement, personal development, and preparation for future pathways. We believe it is vital that our students gain recognised qualifications and are well equipped to compete confidently for post-16 education, training, or employment, moving closer to achieving their long-term career aspirations.
